The Boston Red Sox defeat the Baltimore Orioles 12-3 in their first game of the series at Fenway. The last time these two teams faced off, the Sox won two and lost two at Baltimore.
The heroes of this game were Brayan Bello, and almost the entire Sox offense. Save for a couple hitters, the entire lineup put on a show.
Bello went five and a third innings, only giving up two runs, and struck out five batters. Another solid performance; if he can make that the regular, his ceiling will keep rising. The bullpen came in after, and only gave up one run.
As for the offense, it was working on all cylinders. A run was scored by Rafael Devers in the first to tie the game. Rob Refsnyder led the main offensive charge, with five RBI and a two homers for three runs. Tyler O’Neill had two solo shots, both after each of Refsnyder's dingers, and the rest of the offense got seven runs to get the Sox total to twelve.
The Red Sox will host the Baltimore Orioles again tomorrow at 7:10pm EST.
This is NOT a replay.
