Floyd Mayweather and John Gotti III were supposed to compete in a simple exhibition match the first time they fought in June 2023. The encounter was anything but simple, resulting in a rematch on August 24. The eight-round exhibition fight will take place in Mexico City and air on DAZN.
Turning pro in 1996, Mayweather won titles in five divisions and is generally regarded as the finest fighter of his generation. A perfect 50-0, "Money" retired in 2017 after beating MMA star Conor McGregor via TKO. Since then, he has competed in numerous exhibition bouts.
Gotti is the grandson of notorious gangster John Gotti. An MMA fighter and boxer, Gotti landed clean shots on Mayweather, though the ex-champ was largely toying with him. When the referee decided to call the fight off early, an enraged Gotti attempted to attack Mayweather, which led to a melee between both camps in Florida.
Even with a sixteen-year age gap, the 47-year-old Mayweather is levels above his opponent. However, the 31-year-old Gotti wants to boost his reputation within the sport and believes he can have even more success this time around.

“Fate gave me a second fight, and I’m making the most of it.”
