Tyreek Hill injury update: Latest news on Miami Dolphins WR after sudden setback image

The sudden injury saga around Miami Dolphins star wide receiver Tyreek Hill continues to add new layers.

Wednesday, Dolphins head coach Mike McDaniel told reporters that a thumb injury on Hill’s right hand will keep the superstar out of practice. According to NFL Network’s Cameron Wolfe, McDaniel stressed that holding Hill out is preventative because the work could worsen the injury.

Injury concerns around Hill suddenly popped up the day prior when Hill attended practice—but did not catch passes while sporting a brace on his right hand

It’s merely the latest massive setback for the Dolphins when it comes to weapons around Tua Tagovailoa.

Odell Beckham Jr. has yet to get activated off the physically unable to perform (PUP) list with an unknown injury, spawning some vague comments from McDaniel and the wideout himself sparring with fans online about it

Then there’s Jaylen Waddle, who also has an undisclosed injury and hasn’t practiced in roughly two weeks. Also, possible No. 3 River Cracraft could now be sidelined for a big chunk of time due to an upper-body injury.

With Hill and Waddle, the Dolphins are clearly using an abundance of caution while prioritizing Week 1 health. Detailed injury reports become mandatory that week, so fans can expect more then.

Perhaps more pressing is that, while focusing on Week 1 readiness, the full offense hasn’t been getting reps together. That’s something Tagovailoa spoke openly about in regards to Beckham recently.

Until the opener, the focus on the Dolphins will now shift to Hill’s hand and the sudden brace. Tagovailoa will rep with names on the depth chart such as Braxton Berrios and a rookie such as Malik Washington in the interim.
