Manu Bhaker has bagged India's first medal at the Paris Olympics 2024. Bhaker finished third, as she claimed the Bronze Medal for India in the Women’s 10m Air Pistol event. After missing out on the final at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics, the 22-year-old has avenged redemption at the 2024 Olympics. 

India's first medal at the Paris Olympics 2024 is assured, as Manu Bhaker wins her first Olympic medal as an athlete. The 22-year-old has scripted history as she becomes the first Indian women to win a medal in Shooting.

What happened in the Women's 10m Air Pistol event?

Manu Bhaker finished third with an aggregate points tally of 221.7, after 22 shots. She claimed bronze, after missing out on the Silver medal by the slenderest of margin, of 0.1 aggregate points. Manu's ride was on the high, as she was second before the final shot for the bronze.

In the final shot in the quest of the Bronze, Korean debutant Kim Yeji shot 0.2 points more than Manu, resulting in a Bronze for Bhaker, and for India. Manu, who was at the second position for a large part of the final, eventually settled for Bronze. 

Nevertheless, India's first medal at the Olympics 2024 has finally been secured. 

Who won the Gold Medal in Women's 10m Air Pistol event at Paris Olympics 2024?

Korean shooter Oh Ye Jin struck Gold in her debut Olympic appearance, scoring 243.2 after 24 rounds of shooting. Ye Jin's fellow Korean shooter, Kim Ye-ji bagged Silver at the Women's 10m Air Pistol event, scoring 241.3 points on aggregate.
