Pakistan have been under fire for their performances in the last two ICC tournaments. The Babar Azam-led side failed to get out of the group stages of both ODI World Cup 2023, and T20 World Cup 2024.
Babar Azam was re-appointed as the team skipper ahead of the T20 World Cup, replacing Shaheen Afridi at the helm. Additionally, India's 2011 ODI World Cup-winning coach, Gary Kirsten was brought into the fray, to replace Mohammad Hafeez as the coach.

It is reported that Kirsten has complained about former skipper, Shaheen Afridi's attitude at the T20 World Cup 2024. Afridi has been Pakistan's premiere bowler in all formats over the past few years.
There were reports that all is not well between Babar and Shaheen, with the latter miffed that his captaincy was taken away after such a short stint.

What did Gary Kirsten tell Pakistan Cricket Board about Shaheen Afridi?
As per media outlet Saamaa News, Pakistan head coach Gary Kirsten, and assistant coach Azhar Mahmood have complained about Shaheen Afridi to the Pakistan Cricket Board.
The duo were in charge of the team for the recent T20 World Cup 2024, as well as the bilateral tournaments in the build-up to the ICC event. They have spoke against the speedster's attitude and misbehaviour in the tournaments.
It remains to be seen, as to what action (if any), the PCB chief Mohsin Naqvi would take against the 24-year-old if the reports are true. Let us not forget that Shaheen is the son-in-law of former Pakistan skipper, Shahid Afridi.
