Why did Ravindra Jadeja not bowl against Bangladesh on Day 1?
The Indian left-arm orthodox bowler, Jadeja, who according to Manjrekar should've bowled early on in the day was the only Indian bowler who didn't roll his arm in the 35 overs that India bowled on Day 1.
While Akash Deep bowled 10 overs, Ravi Ashwin and Jasprit Bumrah bowled 9 each, and Mohammad Siraj bowled 7.
The possible reason for Jadeja not bowling any over could be the old, widely known match-up that believes that it is easier for the left-handed batters to pick on and counter the left-arm spinners.
However, like Manjrekar tweeted, Jadeja doesn't seem to struggle against the left-handers as it has been widely generalized.
While he has bowled less than half the overs to the left-handed batters than what he has bowled to the right handers, the difference in terms of numbers isn't much different since 2020
