Former Pakistan international Kamran Akmal has lambasted Paksitan cricketers for their display against England in the first Test in Multan. Despite scoring 556 runs in the first innings, Pakistan fell prey to England's aggressive play-style, suffering a heavy defeat by an innings and 47 runs at the end.

They became the first team in Test history to lose a match by an innings after scoring 500+ in their first innings.

In response to Pakistan's 556, England recorded a staggering 823/7 declared, courtesy of a triple-century (317) by Harry Brook. Trailing by 267 runs in the second innings, the hosts were bundled up for 220 runs as the batting unit collapsed on the final day.

Pakistan have suffered six straight defeats now under Shan Masood. After the dismal performance in Multan, former wicket-keeper Kamran Akmal has blasted the current set of players, comparing them to a 'locality team'.

Pakistan are worse than a club team, says Kamran Akmal

Akmal compared the Pakistan Test team to a locality team, and has criticised players for playing for personal milestones, rather than collective objectives.

He also admitted that the abysmal state of Pakistan cricket has seen them boss over the minnow teams, only to get pushed-over by top teams.

"The world must be amazed by the way Pakistan lost. Nobody will believe this. Pakistan side has become a locality team. Even the club team doesn't perform like this. This is the current standard of our team," he stated.

"We win against small teams but can't even get close to big teams. The whole world is laughing at the Pakistan team," the former wicket-keeper said on his YouTube channel.

"Pakistan team have selfish approach. In our country, players play for personal milestones and then think about the team. The whole world is playing against Pakistan to make records," Akmal admitted.

What did Kamran Akmal say about England after the 1st Test?

Akmal even praised the opponents, while criticising his countrymen in his recent YouTube video. The 42-year-old congratulated England for the solid win away from home, and beating Pakistan in the way they did.

"I don't think any team will play this kind of a Test match. Posting a total as high as Pakistan did, England outwitted them with a 823-run total. And then bundled Pakistan in under the trailing runs. It is unbelievable," Akmal praised England.
