Former Pakistan skipper Shahid Afridi has raised questions over Pakistan Cricket Board's (PCB) backing of the long-standing skipper Babar Azam. The star batsman has not found success as a captain for his nation, and PCB's continuous support to the 30-year-old has not gone well with Shahid Afridi.
Shahid Afridi is currently playing the World Championship of Legends in the United Kingdom. In a post-match interview at the tournament, Afridi spoke about Babar Azam's lack of success as a captain.

What did Shahid Afridi say about PCB's continuous backing of skipper Babar Azam?
Former Pakistan skipper, Shahid Afridi blasted PCB for backing Babar Azam as captain, despite lack of results in ICC tournaments. Babar has led the nation in multiple ICC events, and is still backed as the leader of the side.
Afridi recalled, how during his times, captain was the first one to be sacrificed off his role, after a lacklustre World Cup.
They should decide on the captain or the coach, and then give them time. I have captained, Younis Khan has captained, and so has Misbah Ul Haq. We never got this much time. As soon as the World Cup is over, often captain used to be the first one to get the blame, Afridi recalled his playing and captaincy days.
Babar Azam has led in multiple World Cups, and has had enough opportunities. If you want to keep Babar in my opinion, a lot of things have been done. If you bring someone new, give him chances, the 47-year-old suggested.
What did Shahid Afridi say about the sacking of Wahab Riaz and Abdul Razzaq?
Wahab Riaz and Abdul Razzaq were recently sacked off their roles in the selection committee members. Afridi has demanded for transparency and unbiased calls from the PCB.
I got to know that only Wahab Riaz and Abdul Razzaq have been sacked from the selection committee. I don't understand this surgery. If the selection committee is of 6-7 people, then why only these two have been removed?, Shahid Afridi interrogated.
