New Zealand have unveiled their squad for the much-anticipated three-match Test series against India. Star batter Kane Williamson is expected to travel to India after the first Test match due to an injury problem.
Michael Bracewell has been named in the squad in place of ace batter Williamson. The Kiwis are on the back of a disappointing 2-0 series loss to Sri Lanka away from home. They will hope to turn things around as they play their second series within a month's time in the subcontinent.

Why will Kane Williamson miss first Test against India?
The BlackCaps confirmed on Wednesday that their star batter Kane Williamson will travel to India after the conclusion of the first Test match due to a groin injury. The Kiwi ace felt discomfort in his groin during the second Test match against Sri Lanka.
On Williamson's condition, New Zealand selector Sam Wells said, "The advice we've received is that the best course of action is for Kane to rest and rehabilitate now rather than risk aggravating the injury.

"We're hopeful that if the rehabilitation goes to plan Kane will be available for the latter part of the tour. While it's obviously disappointing to not have Kane available from the start of the tour, it provides an opportunity for someone else to play a role in an important series."
