On Sunday, the 17th edition of the Indian Premier League (IPL) came to an end as Sunrisers Hyderabad took on Kolkata Knight Riders in the tournament final in Chennai.
KKR lifted the trophy, as they triumphed in a one-sided fixture. After their bowlers skittled SRH for just 113, top-order batters Rahmanullah Gurbaz and Venkatesh Iyer ensured there were no hiccups as they chased down the total inside 11 overs.
At the post-match presentation, the awards ceremony took place, and the MVP (Most Valuable Player) of the tournament was announced, among other honours.

IPL 2024 MVP: Sunil Narine named Most Valuable Player of Indian Premier League 2024 edition
Kolkata Knight Riders' Sunil Narine took home the MVP award along with the IPL trophy, making it a birthday to remember for the all-rounder from Tobago. Restored to the top of the innings with the bat, he smashed 488 runs in 15 matches at a strike rate of over 180.

With the ball, Narine was his usual self, bowling miserly spells match after match and finishing with 17 wickets to cap off one of the most brilliant individual seasons in the IPL.
