Team India are set for some chopping and changing up the batting order. Veteran openers Virat Kohli and Rohit Sharma announced their retirements after India were crowned champions of the recent T20 World Cup 2024.

The likes of Abhishek Sharma, Shubman Gill, Yashasvi Jaiswal, and Ruturaj Gaikwad are touted as the next-generation of cream opening batters in the format. The quartet are currently a part of India's first-choice XI in the T20 series against Zimbabwe.

Abhishek Sharma scored a record-breaking century in the second T20I, while Ruturaj Gaikwad has scored over 100 runs in the last two appearances.

Yashasvi Jaiswal played a quick-fire knock to mark his return on the cricket pitch, meanwhile Shubman Gill scored a captain's innings in the third T20I on Wednesday.

Shubman Gill labelled as selfish in the match against Zimbabwe?

As the BCCI braces prepares for a change up the order, the young-guns have their tasks cut out in the shortest format.

Skipper Shubman Gill was labelled as 'selfish' despite his knock of 66 in the third T20 against the Chevrons. To top that, Abhishek Sharma was demoted to number three, after scoring a 47-ball 100 a few days ago.

The BCCI have a selection headache as the next generation of Indian openers look to pass the Zimbabwe test with flying colours.
