Portugal vs. Czechia lineups & team news

The biggest storyline surrounding Portugal is whether the legendary Ronaldo will start at the Euros, with the 39-year-old Al-Nassr striker looking to add to his 130 goals tally for his country so far.

Their captain and star man was eventually relegated to a bench role at the 2022 World Cup, and all eyes will be on manager Roberto Martinez in his big decision.

Portugal projected starting lineup (4-3-3): Costa (GK) — Cancelo, Pepe, Dias, Mendes —Fernandes, Palhinha, Vitinha — Silva, Ronaldo, Leao

Czechia will be hoping Patrick Schick can rediscover his form that saw him become a star at Euro 2020.

West Ham duo Tomas Soucek and Vladimir Coufal are also set to play key roles in the starting lineup at the tournament, while Jan Kutcha could get the nod to feature in the final third of the field ahead of  21-year-old Adam Hlozek on Tuesday.

Czechia projected starting lineup (3-5-2): Stanek (GK) — Holes, Hranac, Krejci — Coufal, Soucek, Provod, Barak, Jurasek — Kuchta, Schick

Portugal vs. Czechia prediction

  • Score prediction: Portugal 3-0 Czechia

Portugal were sensational in Euro 2024 qualification as Martinez's team won all ten of their matches to storm a spot in the tournament.

They were also the highest scorers in qualification with 36 goals racked up by Ronaldo and Co. at a rate of over three scored per game.

Czechia will still be hopeful of a knockout stage place, out of Group F, ahead of clashes with Georgia and Turkey, but they could be in for a lesson in Leipzig.
