France begin their Euro 2024 campaign against Austria in Dusseldorf on June 17.

Les Bleus are predicted to battle for the title in the coming weeks with Didier Deschamps' squad packed with major tournament experience and superstar talent.

Captain Kylian Mbappe will lead France at the tournament on the back of wrapping up his move to Real Madrid. The 25-year-old scooped the Golden Boot award at the 2022 FIFA World Cup and is a leading candidate to finish the Euros as the top goal scorer.

Austria are led by former Manchester United interim manager Ralf Rangnick. However, they have exited the tournament at the group stage in two of their past three appearances, and they face a battle to reach the knockout stages here as part of a tough group that also includes the Netherlands and Poland.

France vs. Austria prediction

  • Score prediction: France 2-0 Austria

France will want to lay down a marker to their tournament rivals against a solid Austria team that is short on firepower.

Mbappe has outlined his desire to leave his mark on Euro 2024 ahead of landing in Madrid, and France's strength in depth makes them a force to be reckoned with.

They have reached three finals in their past four major tournament appearances, losing out in the 2022 World Cup and Euro 2016 finals, either side of winning a world title in Russia in 2018.
