Alex de Minaur has entered this year's Australian Open as a top-8 seed for the first time in his career.

After reaching the quarter-finals of Roland-Garros, Wimbledon and the US Open last season, the Aussie will look to go deep at his home tournament.

During his matches, the camera regularly pans to his player box (or in this tournament's case, a coaching pod), which typically consists of his coaching staff, along with some family and friends.

The Sporting News takes a look at the coaching team that has helped him reach this stage of his career.

Who is Alex de Minaur's coach?

Spanish coach Adolfo Gutierrez has guided Alex de Minaur since he was nine years old.

Their partnership was formed when the Aussie's family moved to Alicante in Spain – a city they ended up living in for eight years.

"Adolfo, he's been like my second father, like a father figure," de Minaur said during last year's Australian Open.

"We've been together now for 16 years.

"He took me in as a young kid to the point where my family would obviously struggle to pay him at times. He took me in. He would do countless hours with me."

De Minaur also added to his coaching team in 2023, bringing in Australian Peter Luczak on a part-time basis.

The former Davis Cup player has previously coached fellow Australians Jordan Thompson and the now-retired John Millman.

Lleyton Hewitt is also regularly spotted in de Minaur's box, most recently during his first-round clash at Melbourne Park.
