The final round of Super Rugby Pacific 2024 is upon us. Although there's plenty of uncertainty all around before we head into the playoffs, the Friday night contest between the NSW Waratahs and the Queensland Reds in Sydney can essentially be put down as a dead-rubber.
The Queenslanders cannot improve upon, nor be demoted from fifth place, which they rubber-stamped alongside a return to Hamilton for a second straight season with a cruising 59-13 victory over the Force on Saturday night, marked by another hat-trick for breakout sensation Tim Ryan.
Rock-bottom Waratahs, meanwhile, know where they're going after the game, given their miserable season has been done for some time now, with farewell preparations underway for head coach Darren Coleman.
They have won only two game all season long and both of those came against the Crusaders. While they have competed well at times, that wasn't just good enough from them.
