When are State of Origin teams announced? Confirmed team lists and predictions for NSW Blues and Queensland Maroons image

We are entering the State of Origin period of the Australian rugby league season as selection rumours and debates continue to swirl.

While the NSW Blues are entering a new era under the guidance of head coach Michael Maguire, most of the players from last year's series defeat are still in the frame to earn another call-up.

As for the Queensland Maroons, they have stuck with Billy Slater at the helm, who is unlikely to make too many changes as they search for a third consecutive shield.

When are State of Origin teams announced? Selection date for Game 1

Teams for the 2024 opener are currently being revealed following the conclusion of Round 12. 

The NSW team has already been announced on the evening of Sunday, May 26, while the Queensland side is set to be revealed the following morning, on Monday, May 27.
