'Waiting for a text': Storm star grilled for ignoring party invite image

Cameron Munster fielded an unexpected question in a post-match press conference on Thursday evening.

Following the Storm's 38-30 loss to the Cowboys in Townsville, the Melbourne five-eighth had to think on his feet when grilled about an upcoming bucks' party of a former teammate.

The message was delivered on behalf of Titans forward Joe Stimson, who played at the Storm between 2017 and 2019.

Munster was lightheartedly accused of ignoring a text message inviting him to the party, which falls after this year's finals series.

"I know that you guys are prepping for the finals ... but Joe Stimson has texted us during this [press conference] and said you haven't replied to him about his bucks' party yet in October," the journalist said.

"He's waiting for a text back, the great Joe Stimson.

"If you could get back to him he'd appreciate that!"

"I'm sure Joe would appreciate it if he doesn't go, actually," Melbourne coach Craig Bellamy quickly interjected.

"Might be the best option!"

Munster, who appeared slightly flustered, did respond though.

"That's a good question," he said.

"I've got better things to do at the moment.

"I'm good mates with him ... I don't want to be saying too much, but I'm just getting myself prepped and ready for finals.

"We'll play with that and see where I'm at by the end of the year."

Much to the approval of his coach, Munster also declared he has a "finals first" approach.

"You're saying the right things, [but] it's the actions that count," Bellamy jokingly added.

Despite the Storm's defeat, it was all smiles in the press conference, with the minor premiership already locked up for the Victorian club.

After resting the majority of their star players on Thursday, they are expected to field a full-strength line-up against the Broncos next week.
