Ryan Papenhuyzen news: Will Storm star sign a new contract?

There has been previous speculation that Papenhuyzen will move to a new club, but recent reports indicate the fullback will remain in Melbourne.

According to 9News' Danny Weidler, Papenhuyzen and his agent Clinton Schifcofske will meet with Storm officials on Thursday (August 8) to finalise a new contract.

The length of a potential extension has not been made clear.

If a fresh contract is confirmed, it potentially creates a 'good headache' for coach Craig Bellamy, with rising talent Sualauvi Fa'alogo already inking a deal through to the end of 2028.

Papenhuyzen is being favoured in the No. 1 jersey at the moment, with Fa'alogo getting mixed game time as a bench utility.

Both players' attributes suit the fullback position, so Bellamy will have some critical short and long term decisions to make when it comes to team selection.
