NRL Judiciary Round 19: Will Kennedy banned after incident with Adam Gee in win over Tigers image

Byes may mean this is a shortened round in the NRL, but the judiciary still had plenty of work to do.

There were no incidents cited by the judiciary in Thursday night football between the Dolphins and Rabbitohs, but Will Kennedy has found himself in hot water after an unusual incident in the Sharks big win over the Tigers.

Meanwhile, Manly backrower Haumole Olakau'atu was cited after a shoulder charge during his side's win over Newcastle.

Will Kennedy banned after incident with Adam Gee

Whilst Cronulla's 58-6 win over the Tigers was perfect in almost every way, they will have to do without fullback Will Kennedy for a week after an unusual incident during the match.

In the 13th minute when the Sharks were on a breakaway, Kennedy - who was acting as a support runner in the play - accidentally collided with referee Adam Gee as he attempted to be an option for a pass for Braydon Trindall.

Despite the contact appearing to be unintentional, the fullback has been slapped with a Grade 2 Contrary Conduct charge, which has resulted in a one-game ban with an early plea.

The only other incident from the match was Tom Hazelton being cited for a crusher tackle on Fonua Pole, though he is only facing a monetary fine.
