Kurt Donoghoe hit with large ban for high tackle

Kurt Donoghoe will spend three weeks on the sidelines after being charged for a high tackle on Francis Molo during the Dolphins' 26-6 loss to St George Illawarra.

The utility, who was a late addition to the side, was hit with a Grade 2 Careless High Tackle charge which will see him miss three matches after he took the early guilty plea.

If he elected to fight the charge and failed at the judiciary, Donoghoe would have missed four weeks.

The Dolphins have a bye in Round 18 with games against the Rabbitohs, Panthers and Titans to follow.

Viliame Kikau charged for high shot during Bulldogs win

Kikau was cited for a high shot on the Sharks' dummy-half in the 21st minute of a contest which went right down to the wire on Friday night.

Nicho Hynes had a chance to win the game for his side, only to miss a field goal opportunity right in front of the sticks. Matt Burton promptly went up the other end and nailed his kick to hand his side the 15-14 win.

Kikau and Sexton will be free to play next week for the high-flying Dogs after they both copped financial penalties for their respective charges.

Meanwhile, Oregon Kaufusi was also charged for a crusher tackle on Blake Wilson during the match. The prop will also be free to play if he accepts the $1,000 sanction.
