Reimis Smith has been granted a release from the Melbourne Storm, effective immediately.
The centre will now head abroad to "take up an opportunity overseas".
Smith joined the Storm from the Bulldogs in 2021.
He hit the ground running in his first season at the club, scoring 14 tries in a productive campaign.

A pectoral injury saw him miss a significant chunk of the 2022 season before he returned to regular action in 2023.
Smith featured in a dozen games for the Storm this year but was unable to crack the first team since returning from injury, with the likes of Jack Howarth and Grant Anderson preferred in the backline.
"We wish Reimis all the very best with his ongoing career going forward and we thank both he and his partner Bronti for their wonderful contribution at our club, and we wish them all the best for their next adventure in their lives," Storm director of football Frank Ponissi said.
The 27-year-old departs Melbourne having racked up 68 appearances for Craig Bellamy's side.
"Melbourne thank you for the memories, life lessons and helping me grow as a person and a footy player. Thank you to the fans that cheered me on but also boo’d [sic] me, I appreciate it all," Smith wrote on Instagram.
"Thank you to the lads I played with, trained with I loved every second of it even when we were at JDs gym wrestling.
"One chapter ends and another opens. I trust Gods [sic] plan and I will walk by faith not by sight. Looking forward to the future."
