Brad Fittler has received criticism after an 'awkward moment' on live television with Olympic champions Jessica and Noémie Fox.

The commentator and presenter was interviewing the sisters on Channel 9's pre-game coverage ahead of Friday night's Panthers vs. Rabbitohs clash.

He was heard making a remark about wanting "the kiss-cam to come on" as he stood between the two sisters.

Jessica then turned away from Fittler before the former NSW Origin coach pivoted the interview, asking Noémie about the atmosphere at the stadium.

The interaction drew criticism from social media users, with Fittler's remark labelled as a "disgusting comment", "gross" and "pretty grim" on X.

Following their stunning achievements in Paris, the Fox sisters returned to Australia roughly a fortnight ago.

Jessica took out both the women's canoe and kayak slalom events, while Noémie won gold in the women's kayak cross.

The pair visited the Panther's training facilities earlier this week to chat with the men's first team.

As Penrith locals, they were then invited to Friday's game at BlueBet Stadium, where they received a rapturous reception pre-match.
