One of the closest AFL home-and-away seasons in history has reached its conclusion.

Just eight points separate third and ninth in the final standings, with the battle for the top eight going down to the last day of action.

When is the AFL Finals?

The exact dates for the final round of the regular season have been confirmed, with it kicking off on Friday, August 23.

Following that, the top eight teams will have a week off before the first set of finals games will begin on Thursday, September 5.

Eventually, the season will conclude with the Grand Final on Saturday, September 28.
