Zlatan Ibrahimovic may be recovering from a serious injury, but that hasn't stopped some teams taking an interest in him.

The Premier League confirmed on Friday that the striker has been released by Manchester United, having included him on their list of free transfers this summer.

The Swede had an excellent season cut short in April when he suffered a cruciate ligament injury in the Europa League quarter-final with Anderlecht.

The 35-year-old will be out of action for months, prompting United to hold off on their option to extend his deal for another year.

But the ex-Ajax, Inter, Barcelona and Juventus star may not have to wait too long to find a new club, with Dutch second tier side Telstar looking to try their luck.

After the announcement, Telstar followed on Hertha Berlin's lead, jokingly tweeting to United, "Could you send us any contact details of Ibrahimovic? Thanks in advance."

Despite his age, with 28 goals in 46 appearances for United in just one season, Ibrahimovic might just hold out for a better side if he recovers well.

Otherwise, a return to Netherlands may become appealing.
