Despite FOX trying their best to ruin the TV broadcast with untimely black screens and numerous losses of audio, Friday Night SmackDown continued the momentum of several of the recent promotions. The opening was a huge rumble between The New Bloodline and the new allegiance between Cody Rhodes, Randy Orton and Kevin Owens. Security and NYPD had to get involved to break things up before the match card could even get going.

But that wasn't even the highlight of the night for the raucous and rowdy New York City crowd at Madison Square Garden. That occurred when the second Money in the Bank qualifying match took place and two big NBA rivals got into the mix.

At last week's Monday Night RAW in Indianapolis, Pacers forward Tyrese Haliburton was ringside and shared a live feed of United States champion Logan Paul. Paul then appeared on SmackDown last week and attacked LA Knight, who has been trying every trick possible to get a shot at the belt. That led to this Friday's three-way qualifier for a spot in next weekend's PLE, Money in the Bank.

As Paul entered the ring, he introduced the partisan MSG crowd to none other than Haliburton. As the two walked towards the ring to a chorus of boos, who do they pass in the crowd? New York Knicks' star Jalen Brunson.

The two stars locked horns in one of this year's NBA playoffs' most exciting series; the Eastern Conference semifinals which the Pacers won in a blowout Game 7 at the Garden. Things didn't end their though, as Paul had Haliburton try to use his brass knuckles in the no-disqualification bout.

Burton was having none of it, keeping the interference at bay in a match Knight eventually won.

Paul wasn't done, bringing Haliburton into the ring after the pinfall, attempting to convince him to attack Knight. Again it was Burton to the rescue, this time with the infamous wrestling prop, a steel chair.

Twitter, of course, loved every minute of it.
