The women had been looking for the opportunity to close out a big event. They got it at WWE TLC and didn't disappoint.
It was a wild affair as Asuka defeated Becky Lynch and Charlotte Flair to win the "SmackDown" women's championship in the first-ever women's TLC match. All three women destroyed their bodies, taking shots with canes and chairs along with wild falls through tables to deliver an excellent main event. However, it was Ronda Rousey getting involved that would cost both Lynch and Flair. The "RAW" women's champion exacted revenge on her enemies by pushing them off of the top of the ladder when the title was within reach for both women. Rousey's interference allowed Asuka to climb the ladder and bring down the championship.
Rousey had previously taken a beating from both women and this was her way of getting payback. You can bet that both Lynch and Flair will be looking for retribution, maybe as soon as "RAW" on Monday night.
Earlier in the night, Rousey made Nia Jax tap out to her signature armbar to retain her title in one of the better matches on the show.

Most of the matches were average or even solid with the only major disappointment being the IC title match between Seth Rollins and Dean Ambrose. The crowd never got into the match that had high expectations going into it with Ambrose winning the championship against his former Shield teammate.
It also followed a terrific wrestling match between Daniel Bryan and AJ Styles as the two battled for the WWE championship. Both kept coming back with Bryan eventually reversing a small package into one of his own to retain the title.

Something didn't click with what should have been a great match between them. It didn't help that they had to follow the Bryan-Styles match and the crowd couldn't get into the slower paced match. These two have had great matches before and they'll have more chances soon.

Elias beats Bobby Lashley in a ladder match with a guitar over the ring
6:52 p.m. FINISH: Elias comes back and powerbombs Lashley on a ladder. He starts to climb the ladder but Lio Rush runs up the other side. Elias shoves him off and gets the guitar for the win. Back in the ring, Rush jumps on Elias's back and Lashley hits a chokeslam. Rush then connects with a frog splash off the top rope and Lashley smashes the guitar across Elias' back.
Decent match but not much other than some painful move using the ladders.

6:47 p.m.: Elias get the upper hand and stomps Lashley outside the ring using a ladder. He then slides two ladders in the ring and starts to climb one when Lio Rush gets involved. Elias gets his hands on him but he sneaks away. Lashley comes up from behind Elias who connects with a knee.

6:42 p.m.: Elias is in the ring and says it will be one of his prized Fender guitars above the ring and after he retrieves it, he plans on using it to play a tune on Bobby Lashley. He's about to sing "Do You Know the Way to San Jose" but Lashley's music hits.
6:40 p.m.: VIgnette airing featuring "The Freak" Lars Sullivan who is coming to WWE. It sounds like he could debut this week on TV but it will be on "RAW" or "SmackDown?" My bet is on the blue brand.

Buddy Murphy beats Cedric Alexander to remain WWE cruiserweight champion
6:32 p.m. FINISH: Alexander has his chance but Murphy shot him face first into the middle turnbuckle. Big knee to the jaw and he hits Murphy's Law to retain the title. Good match as they have great chemistry but this was way too short.

6:17 p.m.: We're getting at least one match on the kickoff show as they just announced that the cruiserweight title match between Buddy Murphy and Cedric Alexander is coming up. At least the 205 Live guys got to be the main card last month on Survivor Series before being relegated back to the kickoff show tonight.
6:01 p.m.: The kickoff show is underway with Jonathan Coachman, Booker T, Sam Roberts, and David Otunga. A fan recently pointed out on Reddit that the "new" Daniel Bryan who cares all about the planet is carrying around the WWE Championship that has a leather belt. Well, Bryan talked about that in a WWE TLC preview show and said that after he beats AJ Styles tonight, he will replace the leather taken from a cow that he likes to call Daisy (he did say that) with something more sustainable.
5:55 p.m.: The kickoff show is about to begin. BTW, things could be interesting on "RAW" Monday night as the boss is going to be making an appearance. Will he be there to simply fire Corbin as the GM (assuming he loses tonight) or could there be bigger things coming?
BREAKING: This Monday night, @VinceMcMahon returns to #RAW to shake things up!
