Every professional wrestler, from the time they were kids, dreamt of being world champion. Before understnading the difference between Heel and Babyface, real life and kayfabe, hearing the words "And New!" has been the desire of every fan. For the lucky few, it becomes reality some day and for those who think the booking nature of sports entertainment dulls that, they need to look no further than the way the wrestlers celebrate once they've been anointed.
Nia Jax's celebration after her victory over Bayley in SummerSlam was the most recent example. The coronation of Code Rhodes at Wrestlemania 40 was a tear-jerker moment. Being a great wrestler is just the starting point. Selling the character and the storyline and convincing the crowds in every arena to give a damn about your quest is what matters most, and still then the promotion has to deem one marketable enough to push. It's all an intriguing dance.
