WWE Super ShowDown was billed as a show that was "equal if not better than WrestleMania." While it had the pomp and circumstance of the annual extravaganza, that's where the comparison ended.
The show ended with the first-ever meeting between legends with The Undertaker squaring off against Goldberg. Maybe this would have worked 20 years ago when both men were in their prime but on this night in the blistering heat in Saudi Arabia, it turned out to be a sloppy, tedious affair with "The Deadman" scoring the win.
One of the themes going into the show - which took place at King Abdullah Sports City Stadium in Jeddah, Saudi Arabia - was that Brock Lesnar would finally cash in his Money in the Bank briefcase. Instead, that turned out to be just the latest tease of him cashing in. After Seth Rollins defeated Baron Corbin to retain the Universal Championship, Lesnar was ready to take advantage of the moment. However, it was Rollins beating him down with a steel chair and the cash in never happened.

The Undertaker def. Goldberg
5:48 p.m. FINISH: Goldberg hits a big spear and then kind of hits a jackhammer but Undertaker kicks out. He goes for a Tombstone Piledriver but falls down and then Taker with a chokeslam for the win. Goldberg was exhausted in the end and it felt like they may have called an audible to wrap up the match.

5:45 p.m.: Old school Undertaker as he comes off the top rope and then hits a chokeslam. He motions to end this and picks up a dazed Goldberg and plants him with a Tombstone Piledriver but Goldberg kicks out.
5:43 p.m.: Goldberg charges at Taker in the corner but misses and goes face-first into the turnbuckle and now he's bleeding. BTW, he had a slight cut on his head when he walked out to the ring so it looks like he was prepared to bleed. And don't think Matt Riddle didn't notice that.
Awesome job bro, you’re already bleeding and the match hasn’t even started #WWESSD pic.twitter.com/Ovzh3t64Tq

Mansoor wins the 50-man battle royal
5:20 p.m. FINISH: Samoa Joe tries to knock out Ali but only gets him on the apron and then he and Ricochet pull Joe out to the floor. Then they're eliminated and Cesaro goes out. We're down to Elias and Mansoor who is from Riyadh, Saudi Arabia and trains at the WWE Performance Center. They go back and forth and he knocks Elias over the top to the floor for the win.

Afterwards, Bryon Saxton interviews him and asks what it's like to return home and win the biggest battle royal in WWE history. He said that last year, he was in the battle royal as a rooke but it has been his dream to win this match and represent his country around the world. "Tonight, I won the most historic battle royal in WWE history and my dream came true!" Then he gave a message to the crowd in Arabic and the pyro shoots off.
5:15 p.m.: Shinsuke Nakamura, Sin Cara, and Rusev go out in a row and then The Miz eliminates Robert Roode. The Miz with kicks to Elias and Cesaro and then gets drilled with a kick to the face and he's out. We're down to the final six.
5:11 p.m.: Otis finds enough space to do a caterpillar but then gets run into by Rowan and eliminated. The Usos with superkicks on Rowan and he's out and then The Revival eliminate them.
5:08 p.m.: Titus eliminates both member of the Viking Raiders and then gets knocked out. See ya Zack Ryder and then Curt Hawkins so the "RAW" tag champs are gone. The biggest guys remaining are Rowan and Samoa Joe. BTW, The Revival and The Usos are in this match so double duty for those teams. There goes Apollo Crews and Chad Gable.
5:04 p.m.: Karl Anderson, Luke Gallows, Bo Dallas, Curt Hawkings, and No Way Jose are among those eliminated in the opening minutes. There is barely any room to move in there even with a bunch of people out of there. And there goes Tucker, Akam, and Rezar. Meanwhile, Titus has been hiding under the ring and just emerged.
5:00 p.m.: Elias sings his way to the ring trashing everyone but before he gets in, The Miz jumps out and hits him. He tosses Elias in the ring and the match is one. Bodies everywhere.
There are 50 men in this ring.

Kofi Kingston def. Dolph Ziggler to retain the WWE championship
4:48 p.m. FINISH: Ziggler gets to his feet and superkicks Woods. He finally gets back in the ring but gets met with a Trouble in Paradise for the win. Afterward, Kofi celebrates with some kids at ringside and no Brock Lesnar cash in here.

Backstage, Byron Saxton interviews Ziggler who says he outwrestled and outperformed Kingston and it should have been him. He blames the loss on Kofi having a friend at ringside and demands a rematch in a steel cage match.
4:44 p.m.: Kingston connects with the SOS but Ziggler survives. Ziggler goes outside the ring and the champ flies off the top rope and knocks him down.
4:41 p.m.: Here comes Kofi with some big chops and a boom drop. Ziggler comes back with a DDT and makes the cover but Kofi kicks out. Both guys are working hard and this could be the best match of the show.
4:35 p.m.: Ziggler is in control early stomping away in the corner and then tying him up and connecting with some elbows.
.@HEELZiggler showing off his determination tonight! #WWESSD #WWEChampionship pic.twitter.com/ZjGjOM69JY

Braun Strowman def. Bobby Lashley
4:26 p.m. FINISH: Lashley comes back and drives Strowman into the barricade and then hits a suplex on the ramp. They go back in the ring with Lashley climbing to the top rope but Strowman knocks him down and then hits a running powerslam for the win. Slow, methodical match but exactly what was expected.
BRAAAUUUUUUUN!

WHAT A WIN for @BraunStrowman here at #WWESSD! pic.twitter.com/NguMnITLuZ
4:23 p.m.: Strowman fights back with a spinebuster followed by a shoulder block and then runs into Lashley in the corner. They go outside the ring and Strowman does his run around the ring and knocks Lashley down a couple of times.
4:18 p.m.: A couple of big guys doing old school, big guy stuff including a test of strength. They break away and Lashley hits a powerslam but Strowman survives the pin attempt.
Randy Orton def. Triple H
4:06 p.m. FINISH: Orton stands over Triple H and snarls before backing up and is ready to punt his face. He goes for it but Triple H catches his foot and hits a Pedigree but Orton kicks out. They go outside the ring and Triple H drops Orton back-first onto the announcer's table four times. They go back in the ring and Triple H charges towards Orton but gets hit with an RKO outta nowhere and secures the win.
4:01 p.m.: Orton goes for the RKO but Triple H blocks it and hits a spinebuster. Now he has Orton in a crossface but finally gets to the ropes. Orton again for the RKO but Triple H counters and tries for a Pedigree. Orton counters and then RKO. He makes the cover but Triple H kicks out.
3:56 p.m.: Triple H is on the apron and Orton is trying to connect with a DDT but instead hits a DDT. He puts Triple H on the top rope and hits a few shots before Triple H counters and then hits Orton with a clubbing shot from behind. He goes for the big knee but Orton turns it into a powerslam. Vintage Orton!
3:50 p.m.: Orton is working over Triple H's back and ... chinlock! He holds it for almost 90 seconds before Triple H fights out and then gets knocked back down.
3:47 p.m.: Orton misses Triple H in the corner and hits his shoulder hard against the post. "The Game" is now going after Orton's left shoulder both in and out of the ring. I'm starting to think he may not get many chinlocks. And then, Orton counters Triple H outside the ring and drops him on the announcer's table.
3:44 p.m.: Old school, paced match as you would expect as they exchange counters early on. Triple H tries to lock his arms for the Pedigree but Orton gets out.
3:37 p.m.: Triple H got to bring over one of his bikes.
🏍 It's ALL about THE GAME! 🏍 @TripleH #WWESSD pic.twitter.com/SEBclz6qdI
— WWE (@WWE) June 7, 2019
3:30 p.m.: It's been almost a decade since they've last had a match. I expect lots of chinlocks. Lots.
Lars Sullivan def. The Lucha House Party (Kalisto, Gran Metalik and Lince Dorado) in a three-on-one handicap match by DQ
3:27 p.m. FINISH: Sullivan was dominating before all three members of Lucha House Party got in the ring and started beating on Lars and the ref called for the DQ. Metalik hits an elbow off the top rope and three of them leave. Lars is only down for a minute and then he dismantles all three of them outside the ring. That was ... something.
3:22 p.m.: Kalisto gets the start and is totally mauled by Lars who finally throws him in the corner. Lince Dorado gets tagged in and he's putting up a little bit of a fight until he gets shoved face-first over the ropes to the floor.
3:18 p.m.: If this goes more than five minutes, it will be too long.
Shane McMahon def. Roman Reigns
3:12 p.m. FINISH: Reigns is outside the ring and McIntyre hits him from behind but Roman comes back, driving him into the post and then hits a Superman Punch. He goes back in the ring and Shane mows him down with a spear but can't get the pin. Shane goes to the top rope but Reigns knocks him off with a Superman Punch. He readies for a spear but Shane cuts him off before Roman hits him with a big right hand and as Shane falls, his arm swings out and he hits the ref. McIntyre jumps in the ring and connects with a Claymore Kick and Shane makes the cover and gets the pin.
Yep, Shane McMahon just pinned Roman Reigns.
This friendship pays dividends. @shanemcmahon leaves #WWESSD with the W! @DMcIntyreWWE pic.twitter.com/OZ9fcNpekS
— WWE (@WWE) June 7, 2019
3:09 p.m.: All Shane so far and he has Roman grounded in the middle of the ring with a rear chinlock. Finally, Reigns gets to his feet and drills Shane with ten clotheslines in the corner and then a big kick to the face. He goes for a Superman Punch but Shane hits him mid-air with a chop block to his knee.
3:04 p.m.: The bell rings and Shane immediately goes after Roman. He knocks him out of the ring after a few minutes and McIntyre gets in a shot behind the ref's back.
2:58 p.m.: Of course, Drew McIntyre is out there in Shane's corner. Side note - it's around 102 degrees in the ring and Shane-o-Mac sweats when he does promos on "Raw" and "SmackDown". He's going to be a puddle after this one.
Finn Balor def. Andrade to retain the Intercontinental championship
2:50 p.m. FINISH: Balor is up on the top rope and Andrade joins him up there. Balor gets control and drives him face-first into the mat and then hits the Coup de Grace for the win. Nice match and "The Demon" remains unbeaten.
Just #TheDemon doing Demon things.@FinnBalor is STILL your #ICChampion! #WWESSD pic.twitter.com/mIRu5Mz9BM
— WWE (@WWE) June 7, 2019
2:47 p.m.: Andrade wtih a moonsault and he lands on his feet and tries and standing moonsault but Balor gets his knees up. Balor comes off the top with a foot stomp to the back of Andrade's neck. Andrade comes back with a hammerlock DDT but Balor kicks out of the cover. He fires back with a powerbomb.
2:43 p.m.: Double clothesline and then Andrade with a kick to the head but Balor comes back with a clothesline over the top rope followed by a dive.
2:39 p.m.: Balor on the offensive for the first few minutes but Andrade comes back with a missile dropkick and then a trio of suplexes.
2:33 p.m.: Big time entrance for "The Demon".

Seth Rollins def. Baron Corbin to retain the Universal championship
2:25 p.m. FINISH: Corbin connects with Deep Six but Rollins kicks out. Corbin corners the referee and yells at him. He grabs a chair and comes back in the ring with it but the ref tells him to get rid of it. He does but again yells at the ref before the ref yells back. All of this allows Rollins to recover and he rolls up Corbin from behind and gets the pin.
After the match, a ticked off Corbin hits the End of Days and here comes Brock Lesnar with a chair in hand. Lesnar gets in the ring and Heyman is about to but trips and he drops the briefcase. Lesnar is distracted and Rollins hits him with a low blow. He picks up the chair and begins bashing "The Beast" over and over with it. Rollins with a Stomp with Lesnar's head hitting the case and Lesnar is down and out but he did not cash in the briefcase. Yep, another teased cash in that didn't happen.
2:20 p.m.: Rollins is fighting back with chops and a big elbow. He hits the Slingblade that knocks Corbin out the ring and then hits a dive. Corbin rolls out on the other side and the champ hits another dive. Back in the ring, Rollins with a kick to the face but Corbin kicks out.
2:15 p.m.: As expected, Corbin is focused on Rollins' taped ribs and suplexes him across the top rope and then a second time. The broadcast team is talking about Seth's core and Michael Cole adds that Corbin is "one of the most dangerous men in WWE".
2:07 p.m.: Just like WrestleMania, we're starting the main card with the Universal championship match.
The Usos def. The Revival
1:57 p.m. FINISH: Jimmy Uso has Dawson cradled up but the referee has his back turned. However, they still get the win after a pair of superkicks and pin Dash Wilder.
WHAT A WIN for @WWEUsos to kick off #WWESSD! 🤙🤙 pic.twitter.com/dFR6BLEqoD
— WWE (@WWE) June 7, 2019
1:52 p.m.: The Revival has been in control and keeping Jimmy in the ring but he finally make the (literal) hot tag to Jey. He just crushed Dawson in the corner. Flycrossbodybody off the top rope but Dawson escapes.
1:47 p.m.: Time for the kickoff show match with Michael Cole, Corey Graves, and Renee Young at ringside to call the action. Cole said the actual air temperature is 94 degrees but it feels like 102 down in the ring. Yikes.
1:25 p.m.: Seth Rollins is backstage with Byron Saxton and says he's not 100% and his health "is what it is" but he's ready for Baron Corbin as well as Brock Lesnar if needed.
He's ready for @BaronCorbinWWE.
— WWE (@WWE) June 7, 2019
He's ready for @BrockLesnar.
He's ready to leave #WWESSD STILL your #UniversalChampion! @WWERollins pic.twitter.com/WA7CGyIXsw
1:20 p.m.: Both Alexa Bliss and Natalya traveled to Saudi Arabia with the hope that WWE could convince the government there to let them have a match. Apparently, that's not going to happen with Dave Meltzer reporting that the Saudi government will not approve the women having a match on this show. The decision comes after it looked like it had been agreed upon but Saudi officials changed their mind.
1:10 p.m.: Paul Heyman explains that Brock Lesnar didn't cash in on Seth Rollins on Monday after beating him down with a chair because of Rollins hitting him with a low blow at WrestleMania to help him win the Universal championship. Instead, the beatdown he dished out Monday was punishment for the low blow and today, he'll punish him again by cashing in the briefcase and taking the title back.
1:00 p.m.: Welcome to Sporting News' live coverage of WWE Super ShowDown. Did you know this show is equal to or could be better than WrestleMania? That's a real tag line for this show.
