Report: Logan Paul, CM Punk to appear at WWE SmackDown Chitown image

The stage was set in last week's WWE Smackdown event and it appears the time has arrived for Logan Paul to return to the arena. Missing from ring action since King and Queen of the Ring in May, Paul has been entangled with LA Knight as the latter has made it clear he has his sights set on the United States Championship. The above video from last week's Smackdown, where Knight took a dip into Paul's pool while he was out of town, sets the stage for two of the best mics in the business to be front and center as the promotion turns towards Money In The Bank.

The two are expected to revitalize their rivalry on Friday at the next edition of Smackdown, from Chicago. According to Wrestle Feature, not only is Paul confirmed, but the International Championship menace himself, CM Punk, appears set to make an appearance himself.

Taking advantage of a knocked-down referee, Punk interjected himself into the World Heavyweight Championship match at Clash at the Castle between Drew McIntyre and Damian Priest. McIntyre had Priest defeated but there was no ref to count the pin until Punk slid into the ring donning a borrowed ref jersey.

Enraged in seeing his nemesis, McIntyre confronted Punk long enough for Priest to recover and earn the pin, setting up the latest storyline.

Punk has been sidelined due to an arm injury but joked in the after-Clash press conference he had been cleared for ref duties. He's been exempted from Raw on Monday night to be checked out, apparently paving the way for a Smackdown appearance.
