The wrestling world lost one of their pillars this week, with the unfortunate passing of Sika Anoa’i. The proud influence of Samoan culture in professional wrestling is strong and continuous, tracing back decades with two of the strongest branches belonging to High Chief Peter Maivia and Reverend Amituana'i Anoa'i.

Maivia's lineage eventually brought the world Dwayne "The Rock" Johnson while Anoa'i's branch eventually delivered Roman Reigns, Sika Anoa'i's son. Following the news of Sika Anoa'i's passing, Reigns delivered the following public statement.

One-half of the former tag-team The Wild Samoans, Anoa'i's Bloodline includes numerous past and present WWE stars including Yokozuna, Rikishi and his sons Jey Uso, Solo Sikoa, and Jacob Fatu.

Reigns, whose birthname is Leati Joseph Anoa'i, has not wrestled since his multi-year singles winning streak was snapped at Wrestlemania in losing the WWE Universal Championship to Cody Rhodes.
