WWE RAW Top-3 Moments (07/29/24): Seth Rollins confronts McIntyre, CM Punk; the Wyatt Sicks 6 cooks image

The final episode of Monday Night RAW has arrived and that means the WWE Universe is only five days away from Summerslam 2024 — the next few days serving as a silver platter for Paul “Triple H” Levesque to put the finishing touches on weeks of buildup with the hopes of a sensational payoff on Saturday, Aug. 3 in Cleveland.

For the Red Brand, that means finding ways to ratchet up an already flaming hot storyline between WWE Women’s World Champion Liv Morgan and Rhea Ripley, “Dirty” Dominik Mysterio and The Judgment Day — adding another chapter to Dom humiliating Morgan publicly at the demand of Mami.

You just have to believe Morgan will have something up her sleeve before it’s all said and done.

CM Punk is now medically cleared and his match against Drew McIntyre is a full go for Summerslam, but with the caveat that Seth “Freaking” Rollins serve as special guest referee — to the chagrin of both Punk and the Scottish Warrior — and The Visionary will set his ground rules for both on Monday night.

Last but certainly not least, don’t forget about WWE Heavyweight Champion Damian Priest and Gunther, whose feud turned physical last week when a fed up Priest beat down Gunther both in the ring and on the loading dock to the arena backstage before being halted on both occasions by WWE officials.

Gunther had a match with Finn Balor on Monday, seemingly to sharpen up for Priest on Saturday, but it’s a foregone conclusion that Priest’s TJD compatriot would have other ideas — even if against Priest’s wishes.

Let’s get into the top-3 moments from this week’s WWE RAW ahead of Summerslam.

2. A Woman Scorned

There are few things worse than one of those, and Liv Morgan is serving as yet another reminder of why it’s unwise to crush the heart of a woman in love. The tears that cascaded down the champion’s face last week following the hateful words fired toward her by Mysterio might ultimately drown the entire Judgment Day.

Her rage was apparent in her alleged destruction of TJD’s locker room this week, leaving it like a scene from Twisters was filmed there.

“Feels like you can barely even breathe,” Morgan said in a pre-recorded promo. “I would’ve done anything for you, Dominik. I put you on a pedestal. I treated you like the man I thought that you were.

“But you’re not a man. You’re just Rhea’s little bitch. … All I can do now is make your life a living hell.”

Um, yikes.

Ripley replied by way of her own promotional video of her own though, accusing Morgan.

“You wanna break things that don’t belong to you,” said Mami. “You just so badly wanna be the victim in your Revenge Tour fantasy. That’s all it is: a fantasy. The reality is that this Saturday, at Summerslam, your little Revenge Tour comes to an end.

“There’s no more hiding. There’s no more manipulating.”

No, there isn’t, unless there is.

Hint hint.

2. Seth’s Rules

You had to know that Rollins was going to have fun with his stipulations in the match to come at Summerslam, because he has unfinished business with Drew McIntyre and his feud with CM Punk runs deep, and it is very personal.

“Let’s bring out these two morons,” said Rollins.

But would they all behave themselves — was the question. The answer was, well, they had no choice.

It sure didn’t feel that way in the beginning, with a contentious staredown between the two as Rollins attempted to cool the tension. He did remind them, however, that general manager Adam Pearce set the No. 1 rule in all of this: if either of them touches the other or Rollins, the match for Summerslam would be canceled. To that, Punk left the ring to avoid doing something wrong.

“I’m not scared of you, Drew. I’m worried about what I’m going to do,” he said as he leaned on the announcer’s table.

Rollins was having none of it. He threatened to have Pearce call off the match if Punk didn’t get back into the ring and that flex got him labeled the “boot-licking” office pet by Punk, setting the stage for Rollins to potentially put his hands on Punk come Saturday evening.

“If there’s anybody that hates CM Punk as much as you do, it’s me, but if there’s anyone that hates you as much as CM Punk, it’s also me,” said Rollins.

And so came the rules.

“There’s only one rule,” said Rollins. “There’s only one regulation. You two will listen to everything I have to say. I call the shots. I’m the boss. I’m the law.

“I count to three when I wanna count to three. You tap out when I say you can tap out. If there’s a count out to be had — maybe there won’t be any countouts. I may count to 10, I may count to 20, I may count to a million. Disqualifications? Eh, the referee's discretion.”

Expect chaos and brutality in this match, and nothing less.

“This isn’t a wrestling match,” said McIntyre. “… I won’t stop until your heart does.”

Ring the bell and notify Cleveland Police.

1. Mask Off

Where can you hide, Gable?

The match between the Creed Bros and the original Alpha Academy was a fun match to watch, and it didn’t go as Gable had planned, until it did, when Otis and Akira Tozawa took the loss but that wasn’t enough for Master Gable. He wanted his pound of flesh for Otis’ continued refusal to accept his apology for consistent abuse and to help him against the Wyatt Sicks 6; so he and the Creeds sought to physically dismantle them after the bell.

Maxxine, to her credit, finally showed some spine in challenging Gable physically after slapping him across the face, a welcome sight from the usually meek superstar, before putting up her fist for the apparent fight to come in a three-on-one situation.

They’d never get a chance to attack her, though.

Pitch black. Fireflies.

They … were … there.

For the third week in a row, the Wyatt Sicks 6 appeared to haunt Gable and his new proteges but, this time, it wasn’t Bo Dallas/Uncle Howdy serving court as he did against Chad one week ago. It was the rest of the faction stepping up to the ring and then finally revealing their masks in real time — hinting at their readiness for in-ring action.

Just then, Abigail the Witch flew off of the top turnbuckle to start the attack that the others joined while Uncle Howdy remained curiously absent from the action.

They’d dismantle Gable and the Creeds before the former, per usual, escaped to the ramp and nearly to the backstage area before, you guessed it, Uncle Howdy appeared behind him to settle up once again.

What happened from there is anyone’s guess who isn’t in the arena, because the rest of us were treated to one of the many untimely commercial breaks, but the message was sent loud and clear:

It’s time for the Wyatt Sicks 6 to start throwing hands in WWE.
