There could very well be a passing of the torch happening soon within the women’s division of WWE, as Tiffany Stratton continues her rapid ascent and with her character operating in much the same lane as the one that made Trish Stratus a Hall of Famer, so it only made sense the two would cross paths at Money in the Bank.

Stratus, hosting the event in her hometown of Toronto, opted to not get involved in any sort of drama or controversy — e.g., her grudge against Zoey Stark — instead doing a terrific job as master of ceremony.

She wouldn’t leave the building without being challenged whatsoever though, and it was Stratton who pulled up on her backstage, with the MITB in hand.

“You know, I was gonna say congratulations but, instead, I’m gonna offer you a little piece of advice,” said Stratus. “Don’t get too ahead of yourself, and don’t be too arrogant, because it’s what happens when you cash that in that determines if you’ll be a future Hall of Famer, like me, or just another flash in the pan. Toodles.”

That blistering advice was met with an equally scathing response.

“Aw, Trish,” said Stratton. “Isn’t it a little sad looking at that ring knowing that Trishy Time is no longer, and that my time — Tiffy Time, that is — has just begun? Toodles.”

And yes, Trish, you had already said that.

The well-designed and well-executed disrespect from Stratton did take pause in the post-MITB press conference though, when the up-and-comer praised Stratus as an icon and

“Listen, those are two completely different generations,” said Stratton. “And Trish, Trishy, Trishy Time, she is one of my idols in professional wrestling. And I am ready to get in the ring with the GOAT.”

There’s nothing left to be done here but for Triple H and the WWE to get the Strat-on-Strat crime program cooking going forward, now that the table is set.

It’ll feed families.
