News has arrived that a long-time fan favorite is going to be sticking around the WWE for more bangers. Sheamus, the 12-time former champion, has reportedly inked a new deal to remain with the promotion for the foreseeable future. The Ireland native has been in the WWE since debuting in 2007 and has been a staple through multiple eras.

Born as Stephen Ferrelly, 46, Sheamus has a whopping 1,565 matches under his belt, including 113 on Pay-Per-View/Premium-Live Events.

On this past Monday Night RAW episode, he was defeated in his most recent match by former sidekick Pete "Doesn't want to be called Butch" Dunne, but that isn't going to stop his popularity. On last week's episode of Friday Night Smackdown, a huge celebration as the brand moved to USA Network that brought together dozens of former superstars, Hall of Famers and wrestlings from the Red Brand, Sheamus received one of the loudest pops of the night, confirming his huge level of popularity with the fans.

They'll now be able to rock with him as he continues on his trek to win the WWE Grand Slam. The only major singles championships he's never held is the Intercontinental title currently donned by Bron Breakker.
