With the ink barely dry on her shiny new, and reportedly very large, contract with WWE, Stephanie Vaquer made her in-ring debut for the promotion — having turned away from AEW’s offer following her highly-touted NJPW-AEW premium crossover match with Mercedes Moné.

Three days after signing with WWE and NXT, Vaquer was in Mexico City, Mexico for one of the promotion’s international live shows (SuperShow Summer Tour).

It's a place the Chilean is very familiar with from her time owning women’s titles on the CMLL (Consejo Mundial de Lucha Libre) roster, titles she was forced to vacate just last week in her departure.

She returned to Mexico to do battle with Isla Dawn, one-half of the WWE Women’s Tag Team Champions, and she did not disappoint, as you can see in the full match above, landing the victory after a punishing finisher to the back of Dawn.

The next stop for Vaquer, as noted by Shawn Michaels, will be WWE Performance Center in Orlando, where she’ll begin preparation for her eventual, and maybe sooner than later, debut on the Black and Gold brand.

She’ll join a women’s division in NXT that is stacked to the rafters with premium up-and-coming talent, adding to the firepower as one herself.

And with her first-ever WWE victory being against a champion from RAW, the flagship show.

That’ll definitely send a message.
