Some fans of the Red and Blue Brands might not know it, but when Cody Rhodes ended Roman Reigns' four-year title run at Wrestlemania 40 this past spring, the longest defense title didn't go to anyone in Raw or SmackDown. That honor is currently owned by NXT North American Champion, Oba Femi. Femi earned his belt back on January 9, making his run 213 days and counting.

So when Femi showed up in Austin, TX for Monday Night Raw and stood up to size Otis up... a wave was made by those in the know. Before Alpha Academy's match against the Creed Brothers, Femi was down to the crowd barriers with his belt over his shoulder. He exchanged words with Otis as the announcers revealed his North American Championship open challenge for Tuesday's NXT.

There's a reason Shawn Michaels' booking have allowed such a lengthy title run. Femi seems to have what it takes to be a rising star within the premium brands in a similar manner as Bron Breakker has been.

His appearance could mean anything, including just trying to build some excitement for NXT as they are soon moving to CW and off of USA Network come October. The talent needs to be sold to a wider audience, but Femi isn't likely to be on that brand for much longer so, as expected, fans reacted with a mix of excitement and their own takes on how things will unfold for Femi in the long-term.
