NXT Heatwave Predictions: Trick Williams beats the odds, Perez gets put in the Vice grip, more image

This coming weekend in Toronto won’t simply be all about the extravaganza that is 2024 Money in the Bank because, only one day later, NXT superstars plan on making sure the roof that was blown off of Scotiabank Arena on Saturday remains somewhere in orbit over the Earth’s gravitational field.

The latest ongoings on the Black and Gold brand have been as controversial as they’ve been entertaining, and general manager Ava is cooking up some of the most delicious storylines of any of the three brands, led by the guiding hand of the incomparable Shawn Michaels.

So what’s on tap for NXT Heatwave?

Plenty, and then some more.

The events of the last few weeks have seen a Battle Royale headlined by the NXTNA debut of Joe Hendry, but won by Je’Von Evans, and that launched an entire sh-tstorm as Ethan Page then demanded a singles match that same night — arguing he wasn’t eliminated — then defeating Evans in the main event and, one week later, Shawn Spears (who defeated Page previously) argued he should be No. 1 contender, based upon that logic.

Trick Williams will now face all three with his belt on the line.

Roxanne Perez has ruled the women’s singles division with an iron fist and even batted away TNA Knockouts Champion and force of nature Jordynne Grace at NXT Battleground, but the terrifyingly good Lola Vice wants her belt, and her head on a stick. Their feud went from a temporary truce to swift brutality delivered by both, and Perez will have her hands full with a woman who recently submitted none other than Shayna Baszler.

And it was at that very same PLE that Kelani Jordan became the inaugural NXT Women’s North American Champion, retaining ever since, but she stepped over Sol Ruca in a ladder match to just narrowly grab the belt; and Ruca is primed for revenge.

Then there’s Oba Femi, whom few want to face, except for Wes Lee, the former NXT North American Champion who wants his belt back after failing to repossess it in the triple threat match at Battleground but, and it’s key Lee remember this stipulation: he can never again challenge Femi for the title if Lee loses in Toronto.

Those are just a few of delights that await us at Heatwave, and it’s time for predictions!
