Jeff Hardy has been arrested and charged with DWI following a single-car crash in North Carolina, according to reports.
The WWE tag-team stalwart reportedly crashed into a guardrail before spinning out on the Concord Parkway. Reports say Hardy had a blood alcohol content of 2.5, three times the legal limit.
"Jeff Hardy is responsible for his own personal actions," WWE said in a statement, per CBS Sports. "We are investigating the matter and awaiting information from local law enforcement officials."
Hardy has battled drug and alcohol issues throughout his life, and has two violations of WWE's wellness policy — both stemming from his earlier tenures with the company, between 1998 and 2009.
Hardy is currently shelved with a shoulder injury, but was recently cleared to return to the ring. Hardy, 40, along with brother Matt and fellow WWE wrestler Bray Wyatt, recently taped vignettes for the upcoming WrestleMania 34.
More on this as it develops.
