It was only a month ago when CM Punk donned a referee's jersey and embarked on his mission to ruin the homecoming celebration for Drew McIntyre. Clash at the Castle was just one salvo, though, in Punk's continuing to fulfill his promise to keep McIntyre from ever being a champion again. The next salvo occurred at Money in the Bank.

McIntyre defeated five other wrestlers, climbed the ladder and grabbed the briefcase, earning a contract to demand an on-the-spot championship opportunity. McIntyre wasted no time, invoking a three-way match between himself, Seth Rollins and heavyweight champion Damian Priest. Punk yet again intervened, keeping the title from changing hands and leading to a new beef with Rollins, and a devastating beatdown at the hands of McIntyre.

Why has none of this been worked out in the ring? Punk is still nursing an injury and can't yet wrestle, but it appears the chance is coming soon. eWrestling News is reporting that Punk was seen at the WWE Performance Center on Wednesday, ramping up the possibility that he'll soon be medically cleared to return to the ring.

CM Punk was spotted at the WWE Performance Center in Orlando, FL on Wednesday as he attempts to get cleared for an in-ring return.

Multiple sources are reporting that Punk was at the Performance Center on Wednesday. There is no word on whether he was working out or was in the ring taking bumps.

SummerSlam is scheduled for Saturday, August 3 in Cleveland, OH. The two are expected to face each other, finally, but nothing has officially been announced.
