Brock Lesnar shook up the MMA and pro wrestling worlds on July 7, confronting newly crowned heavyweight champion Daniel Cormier following UFC 226. UFC president Dana White confirmed the plan is to pit Cormier against Lesnar, and Sporting News has learned the plan is for the showdown to occur at UFC 232 on Dec. 29.

How can Lesnar appear for both companies at the same time?

SN reported in April Lesnar and WWE agreed to a new multi-year deal. The contract allowed him to fight in the UFC, which is something Lesnar demanded to be put in the deal.

UFC 226 was the first time Lesnar been seen on television since he retained his WWE Universal Championship vs. Roman Reigns at the Greatest Royal Rumble event in Saudi Arabia in April, as WWE has been telling fans on its weekly shows they are having contractual issues with Lesnar on when he will make his next title defense and who his opponent would be. The company is also working with the premise that Lesnar will leave for the UFC without dropping the belt.

SN has confirmed Lesnar will be defending his title at SummerSlam on Aug. 19 from the Barclays Center in Brooklyn and will be facing the winner of the Roman Reigns-Bobby Lashley match on July 15 at the Extreme Rules show. There's no word on when he will be returning to "Monday Night RAW," but he is expected to make at least one appearance on the show between Monday, July 16 and SummerSlam.

Based on the ongoing storyline, one could expect WWE to address Lesnar appearing at UFC 226 on the July 9 episode of "RAW."
