This marks the return of wrestling on TNT since World Championship Wrestling airing on the cable network for more than 20 years before it went out of business in 2001 and was purchased by Vince McMahon and WWE.
There has not been an announcement yet on the terms of the contract between AEW and WarnerMedia including the length of the deal.
The two companies previously announced that AEW pay-per-views and other special monthly programming with air exclusively on B/R Live, WarnerMedia’s streaming app. That included AEW’s inaugural event, Double or Nothing, that took place back on May 25.
The next AEW pay-per-view — “All Out” — will take place on Saturday, August 31 at the Sears Centre Arena in Hoffman Estates, Ill., outside Chicago and will air live on B/R Live. Several matches have already been announced for that event including Chris Jericho facing Adam “Hangman” Page to determine the first-ever AEW world champion. Plus, Kenny Omega will square off against Jon Moxley while The Young Bucks (Matt and Nick Jackson) challenge The Lucha Brothers (Pentagon Jr. and Fenix) in a ladder match for the AAA tag team titles.
