The 2024 WNBA Finals could be a historic series. The New York Liberty are seeking their first championship, and the Minnesota Lynx have reached this stage of the playoffs for the first time in seven years.
The Liberty edged out the Las Vegas Aces to advance to the championship series — a taste of sweet revenge after the Aces beat them in four games to win the 2023 WNBA Finals.
The Lynx defeated the Connecticut Sun in a tight five-game series, marking the first time the franchise has made it to the WNBA Finals since 2017, when they won their fourth championship against the Los Angeles Sparks.
