Team USA women's basketball is riding one of the most storied win streaks in all of sports. The Americans haven't lost an Olympic matchup in 61 games—that's no losses in more than three decades.

That didn't change in 2024.

After dominating Group C and emerging 3-0 from the group stage, Team USA went three-for-three in the knockout stage, ending the 2024 Paris Olympics with a victory over France to claim the gold medal. It makes for the eighth consecutive gold medal won by the Americans in women's basketball, keeping the impressive streak alive.

Here's everything you need to know about U.S. women's basketball's Olympic record and other wild stats from the team's 61-game unbeaten run.

Inside U.S. women's basketball's 61-game win streak

The U.S. women's basketball team is 78-3 all-time during the Olympics, winning gold in nine out of 11 Olympic tournaments it has entered. They haven't lost since 1992 in Barcelona, where they took bronze after falling to the Unified Team (fallen Soviet Union) in the semifinals.

Team USA has medaled in every Olympics it has competed in, as well, earning gold in all except silver in Montreal in 1976 and bronze in Barcelona. Their first-place finish in Tokyo in 2021 tied the Team USA's men's team for the most consecutive Olympic team victories in all Olympic sports, and it was extended in 2024 with the gold medal win in Paris.

Since 1992, their point differential hasn't been lower than +116, with their most dominant year being Beijing 2008 with a +301 point differential. Their biggest margin of victory ever in any game, Olympic or not, was 65 points over Senegal at the Rio Games in 2016.

They also scored their most points ever in that game with 121. The Beijing Olympics were record-setting, too—Team USA collected its most rebounds in a game (62 against the Czech Republic) and most field goals made (52 against China) during the 2012 tournament.

Two of the most prolific women's basketball players of the time, Diana Taurasi and Sue Bird appeared for five consecutive gold medal performances. Taurasi claimed a record sixth with the Americans winning again in Paris.
