The Connecticut Sun travel to Minnesota on Tuesday to take on the Lynx in a winner-takes-all Game 5 in the semifinal round of the 2024 WNBA Playoffs.
Connecticut outscored the Lynx 49-32 in the second half Sunday afternoon to win 92-82 and force a Game 5. Sun forward Alyssa Thomas almost had yet another triple-double, recording 18 points, 11 assists and eight rebounds in the victory.
For the Lynx, Napheesa Collier led Minnesota in points and rebounds, with 29 and 13, respectively.
These two franchises have had success historically in decisive games, though more recent history favors the Sun. The Lynx are 1-4 in winner-take-all games since a 2017 victory over the Sparks. That includes a Game 3 loss to the Sun in last year’s playoffs.
Connecticut is 5-2 in the franchise’s last seven Game 5s, while Minnesota boasts a 2-1 record overall.
