Caitlin Clark versus Aaliyah Edwards. We saw the two battle it out in the NCAA women's basketball Elite 8 just a matter of weeks ago. Two months later, the former Iowa and UConn stars go head-to-head for the first time in the WNBA.
In case you missed it, Clark was drafted No. 1 to the Fever in this year's WNBA Draft. Edwards was selected by the Mystics as the No. 6 overall pick. Both will make an immediate impact, on and off the court, as two of the most anticipated rookies in the league this season.
Clark and Edwards face off for the first time on June 7 in Washington, DC. No surprise, the Clark Effect took place for this game, too. It was originally scheduled for the Entertainment and Sports Arena, but demand for tickets for the game caused the Mystics to move it to Capital One Arena, which has a capacity of 20,000.

Tickets for Indiana vs. Washington on Friday, June 7 went on sale Tuesday, April 23 and sold out in a matter of minutes, marking a record time for a sell-out for the Mystics.
Nevertheless, there are still tickets available for the game on StubHub. The cheapest tickets currently available are $142.
The franchises split last year's four-game series, each team winning two, but the 2024 WNBA season should be full of surprises.
