The Stanford's men's and women's athletic programs were honored for the 2017-18 Capital One Cup championshps on Saturday during the football team's game against Utah. 

The Cardinal become the first school to sweep both the men's and women's awards in the same season.

The Capital One Cup is awarded each year to the nation's top men's and women's athletic programs. Stanford will receive a trophy, a combined $400,000 in student-athlete scholarships and will be honored in the ESPYs in July.

Stanford's men scored 95 points, beating second-place Alabama, which had 80 points. The Cardinal won the men's soccer national championship and had strong finishes in track, swimming and diving and tennis. It was the second time the Cardinal men won the trophy. 

Stanford's women scored 175 points and won the Capital One Cup for the fifth time in school history. The Cardinal won national championships in swimming and diving and tennis, finishing second in women's soccer. UCLA finished second in the women's competition with 133 points. The women have won the trophy each of the last four seasons.
