The team from Barquisimeto, Venezuela — representing Cardenales Little League — avenged its only loss of the LLWS with a 3-2 win over Japan on Thursday. Venezuela heads to the International Championship for the first time since 2000, when it won the entire tournament.
Representing Kuei-Shan Little League, the squad from Taoyuan City, Chinese Taipei is 4-0 in tournament play, out-scoring the opposition by a total of 32-3. Kuei-Shan Little League lost in the International Championship last season, falling to Curacao.
