Week 2 of the CFL regular season came and went with little movement in the standings for both the East and West divisions. The Ottawa Redblacks (2-0) held off the Winnipeg Bluebombers (0-2) 23-19, while the Montreal Alouettes (2-0) knocked off the Edmonton Elks (0-2), 23-20, to begin the first two days of the slate.
In weekend action, the BC Lions (1-1) earned their first win of the season and some ground in the standings with a 26-17 win against the Calgary Stampeders (1-1), who are entering their bye week and will return in Week 4 with a home date against the first-place Alouettes.
To close out Week 2, the Saskatchewan Roughriders (2-0) earned their first win of a home-and-road back-to-back against the Hamilton Tiger-Cats (0-2) 23-20 to remain atop the West standings.

Week 3 will feature four matchups beginning on Thursday and concluding on Sunday, as the CFL will serve as the main football fix until August when the college football season gets underway once again.
