Rose: I'll voice my opinions differently in future image

Danny Rose admits he will share his opinions “in a different way” after returning to the Tottenham first-team fold.

The left-back rocked the club by giving a tell-all interview to The Sun towards the end of last season in which he claimed that several players were underpaid, and also urged the club to buy players that he didn’t “have to Google”.

Spurs 11/10 to be top London club

However, Rose was welcomed back into the squad by Mauricio Pochettino last week, and made a cameo appearance during the impressive 1-1 draw with Real Madrid in the Champions League.

The left-back, who has lost his place to Ben Davies whilst out injured for the last few months, is grateful to the supporters who applauded him onto the pitch, and says that he is now fully focused on helping Tottenham win silverware.

The London Evening Standard quotes Rose, who confirmed he had been fined for his interview, as saying: “My opinions will be voiced in a different way from now on. I’ve been disciplined and we move forward together as a club.

“I did what I did. I was expecting a frosty reception from the fans so I just have to say thank you to them for giving me a great reception when I came on and when I was training on the pitch after the game.

“I’m trying to look forward now for the rest of the season. First and foremost I have to try to win my shirt back. [What I said has] gone now, my manager [Mauricio Pochettino] has forgotten about it and we all move forward and we try to win this club a trophy.”
