MLS fans are well aware of Sebastian Giovinco's prowess on free kicks, but some may not know of his apparent affinity for beer.
The Toronto FC star scored an epic free kick to help secure a 2-2 draw on the road against Atlanta United on Sunday, with the result boosting the Canadian team to the all-time single-season points record of 69.
But before he scored his goal, Giovinco showed a bit of personality. After Jozy Altidore equalized at the hour mark after Atlanta had taken a first-half lead, the American TFC striker — who had been booed for the entire game along with teammate Michael Bradley — cupped his hand to his ear. An Atlanta fan threw a cup of beer at Altidore's direction, which Giovinco promptly picked up and drank from.
That's that down south hospitality we've heard so much about. Cheers, ATL! #TFCLive | #ATLvTOR pic.twitter.com/i6YT5Lv0d1

Atlanta again took the lead later in the highly charged game, but Giovinco stepped up for a free kick from 30 yards out and hit a perfectly placed effort into the top-left corner, leaving Atlanta goalkeeper Brad Guzan helpless as the ball kissed the bottom of the crossbar before nestling into the net.

Sunday's contest was the final game of the 2017 regular season for TFC. Giovinco finished the campaign with 16 goals and six assists in 25 matches.
His second-half free kick goal was the sixth of the season for the Italian, which is a new MLS regular-season record.
