Queen's Club Championships 2022 schedule

Centre Court start times vary but matches will begin after 12 p.m. BST / 7 a.m. ET / 9 p.m. AEST between Monday and Friday, 1 p.m. BST / 8 a.m. ET / 10 p.m. AEST on Saturday, and 1.30 p.m. BST / 8.30 a.m. ET / 10.30 p.m. AEST on Sunday.

The compact tournament means that players who reach the final eight play on consecutive days at Queen's.

The finalists will have a maximum of eight days between Queen's and the start of their Wimbledon 2022 campaigns.

When is Andy Murray playing at Queen's?

Murray was due to start his campaign against Lorenzo Sonego, but the 35-year-old, who holds a record of five titles at the competition, was forced to withdraw through injury.

"The tournament means a lot to me, and it's disappointing not to compete, especially after playing some good matches on the grass already," said Murray, who suffered an abdominal injury during his Stuttgart Open final defeat to Matteo Berrettini.

The two-time Wimbledon champion hopes to be fit to compete at the All England club.

Queen's Club Championships prize money: How much does the winner get?

Winning Queen's is a lucrative business: the champion is expected to earn more than £340,000 for victory in five matches.

The runner-up has the consolation of taking home around £184,000. The total prize money for the tournament is £1.84 million.

Why is it called Queen's Club?

The club is based in West Kensington, west London, where it has 28 outdoor courts and 10 indoor courts.

Named after Queen Victoria, it was one of the first multi-purpose sports venues in the world when it was established.

The Lawn Tennis Association sold the club to members for £35 million in 2006, avoiding a legal battle after patrons claimed it did not have the right to put Queen's up for sale.

Which players have won Queen's?

Murray has won five singles titles and one doubles honour during 15 appearances at Queen's.

Berrettini's victory in 2021 helped the Italian find the momentum to reach the final of Wimbledon the following month, where he was beaten by the formidable Novak Djokovic.

Americans Andy Roddick and John McEnroe have won the tournament four times, as has Australian Lleyton Hewitt.

Other legendary names to have triumphed include Jimmy Connors, Ivan Lendl, Boris Becker and Pete Sampras.

Nadal won Queen's in 2008, beating long-time rival Djokovic in a tight final.

Queen's is one of the few tournaments that Djokovic has repeatedly competed at without winning.

The current world number one was also edged out in the final in 2018, losing to Marin Cilic despite winning the first set.
